Its also the same thing with wheel chairs. People can still stand up it’s just that it’s only for a short period of time. It’s basically the same thing with your blindness ❤

Can you imagine being the kind of person to yell at someone publicly like that? Being a person like that is the REALLY embarrassing thing here. The range from legally blind to fully blind is wide. ❤ Love you guys and your videos!!

The world needs more sensitive people than obnoxious you do have some very insightful tales to tell .

Partially blind people, wheelchair users with some mobility, anyone with an invisible disability, my heart goes out to all of you having to justify your existence to ignorant and inconsiderate people. Thank you Paul for putting out these videos that help educate more people about disabilities!

That's so silly tho. Her making a judgement based off little to nothing and not knowing your circumstances . I'm glad tho that you can look back on that day and laugh tho. Love from South Africa ❤❤❤

This is why I think schools should start teaching about different disabilities, mobility aids, and other aids people use. Obviously they can't cover everything but it at least gives kids the tools to know the basics and to be open minded when faced with something they're not as familiar with. Channels like this one, Molly Burke, Footless Joe, etc. definitely help educate a lot of people.

Before I started watching this channel, I was also under the impression that anyone with a cane or guide dog would be fully blind. Unfortunately, there just isn't enough common knowledge about disabilities which leads to misunderstanding through ignorance

I feel the same way being 36 (almost lol) and having a handicap placard. I feel like everyone's eyes are always on me every time I park and get out of the car, thinking I probably am just lazy and took my grandparents placard for the day or something. I have a handicap placard for a huge number of reasons. Some of them are more visible as in some days I limp more than others, some are more invisible, like my heart issues. For example, last time I was at Walmart, I was dumb and stubborn and thought I could carry a small case of water a short distance. My heart said f u, and I ended up on the ground in the parking lot in the rain. Luckily I was right in front of my car, and an off duty EMT stopped to help me. I insisted I was fine, I just needed to sit there and let my heart relax and my body stop shaking and the world stop spinning (and apparently I had lost all my color) but she wanted to call an ambulance. We settled on a compromise... she went to get me a wheelchair to sit in and stayed with me until I felt I was good enough to drive. People can LOOK just fine. But you never know what is going on or when something will happen. Whether they are diabetic and could crash, have heart issues, seizures, etc. The fact that someone wants you to be fully blind or it doesn't count is just sad and pathetic. I have trouble seeing and hearing (I'm basically falling apart to put it mildly, and after the saddle pulmonary embolism in 2020, it's all just gotten worse and worse 😅) and with everything else physically limiting and just the lack of energy and the brain fog, and honestly just the guilt of parking because everyone stares and I just feel the judgement but I also know what happens if I park even further away.... I've been basically bedbound the past few months. So I apologize for this rant (the brain fog makes it really hard to get my thoughts out) but it just really hits personally, too. Not only do I feel for you, as a person, but just in general makes me really sad for humanity that people like that exist. I'm just tired. That literally drained me 😅 I'm exhausted. Mentally and physically. Sorry you have to deal with rude people. Same with people who can accept no to petting service dogs. I truly wish you nothing but the best. Congrats on the book. Proud of all you've accomplished.

It's time for you to prank Matthew ❤

Saddens me to think people would yell that, visually impaired to blind is a range, the cane's size and colour will indicate how severe it is, well in Australia. As a diabetic I'm often worried about. This channel is great.

I'm sorry this happened to you. The same happens to people with other disabilities as well. I'm Autistic and sometimes you get certain comments like "You don't look Autistic". Thank you for posting.

I didn’t know most blind people are not fully blind before I watch your videos. Now I always tell people about the real situation of blind people whenever our conversation touches this topic, especially when I saw people joke around about how they encountered a blind people who had the ability to do a certain action and thought that they were scammers

it's funny and kinda sad at the same time, knowing how society nowadays are so quick to judge other people's circumstances just from a glance. glad that it's now an experience that both of you could laugh at
