In the 2008 Great Recession, money piled en masse into the only safe haven asset at the time: gold. I recall it going from $760 an oz (when I started watching the price action) to around $1800 an oz within 2 years. Gold has now been usurped by btc. It's really quite possible btc does as well in the coming recession (that's probably already here, like you say, Tim) as gold did in the last recession. Maybe better. The last recession was only a housing bubble. The next recession will be an everything bubble and, IMO, employers will use the excuse of the recession to lay-off even more employees than they need to in order to replace their roles with AI, which by the end of next year, should have an IQ of 250+ (for context, Einstein is thought to have had an IQ of about 160)

Will inflows be effected by options trading on the spots? I seem to remember crypto had a pretty sizable reaction to futures being made available?
