well around 1977 there was Disco taking the place of prog-rock, and people like me and Fiori Seguin were allowing ourselves to poo poo the genre, unless he meant big bands like Pink Floyd ELP etc ... personally i didnt go too deep in the facile take that 'all music is plastic" and that singers now have no soul. So i didn't poopoo music genres during my long life. You just have to wait until the genre goes out of fashion, then review the genre, ex, Disco, and it's full of good songs with singers with a Heart and Soul. Donna Sommers for example has great disco songs.
I really like that song but that part of the lyrics always bugged me. I bought the record when it came out. The Fiori-Seguin version of 100 nuits a l'heure
