Let (a – b)^2 = a^2 + b^2 –2ab
a^2 + b^2 = 5 and –2ab = –2√6, so a = √3 and b = √2
a^2 + b^2 = 3 and –2ab = –2√2, so a = √2 and b = 1
a^2 + b^2 = 7 and –2ab = –2√12, so a = √4 and b = √3
Thus√3 – √2 + √2 – 1 + √4 – √3 = 2 – 1 = 1
