People trying to dance to “Mr Pink”?! Now that’s admirable!

A great British band. Phil Gould was a marvelous drummer. It has never been the same without him, or Boon for that matter. This, for me, is the real Level 42 at their best.

Mr. Pink at its most raw and pure. Apart from the obvious talents of Mark, Mike and of course Boon. Phil's drumming always amazed me back then, as far as drummers go id say he was the UK's Jeff Porcaro in terms of laying down a groove. Fabulous drummer!

I've seen them about six times in concert in the 80s. I'm still playing A Physical Presence to death. Talk about a tight band. Just awesome. This is them hitting their mark. I still don't know how Mark physically played Lessons In Love for a whole song. Talk about endurance. RIP Boon. Thanks for the tunes mate.

Boon keeps looking at Mark at the end, You can see they were very close friends. We still remember you fondly.

This is not dance music. This is absorbing-into-your-soul music.

Absolutely PG's style/ interpretation fitted their music better than any successor.

A true band these guys. Glad I grew up in the 80s. Still remember when I first heard them. Blown away ever since.

Killer post! I really love how Level performed "Mr. Pink" during this broadcast, most likely aware that it was completely over the heads of most of the mutts in the Tube's audience, but the opportunity to demonstrate their musical superiority won the day. Now that's OG Level 42 at their finest!

Of course Mark is the next level, but also great solo by Mike and very cool Boon's funky rhythm

No one could even remotely touch Mike Lindup in Level 42 - he eclipses every other keyboardist who played in this band and pretty much most players out there! 😃

Where has this popped up from randomly after 36 years?!!?! Nice surprise! I think 4:50 is in my top 5 Mark King bits of bass.

In the old days when all of a sudden you could hear the local taxis talking through the wireless system. Lol!

Wow! That was amazing. I remember them playing amazing stuff like this back in the day but most people just know them as a pop band.
