Not your typical trendy Gibson bashing comment here:
I'm really impressed by the 2019 line up, really beautiful.
The ONLY downside: the price.

That has to be the most beautiful finish on a LP i have seen.

I love this video... I got my 2019 Les Paul not long after watching this video. It was so hard to find one to test one that I purchased it off of Sweetwater not sure what to expect. But, I've played LPs from Standard, Classic, Custom but this guitar... Is something else. They dared to push what boundaries of the Les Paul and in it's last year of production perfected it (maybe as an f it?)

apparently this era of Gibson will be remembered the same way as the windows vista operating system. my theory is that in 2 or 3 years they will be awesome again.

Beautiful guitar...contrary to the comments from all these other idiots! I just bought the 2019 standard and it is amazing...better than my older standard les paul. All the variety of sounds are awesome...and you can still get that good ole les paul sound. It is nice that Gibson built in all the alterations to the electronics that most of us end up doing anyway...just like page and many others did to theirs!

I was in PMT last week and purchased a Gibson Les Paul 50’s 2019 and was served by this guy, a real gentleman and a credit to PMT, very helpful and friendly 😊

You can Tap or split the coils depending on the settings on the dip switches in the control cavity. The standard setting is "coil tap" which still maintains some humbucking ability. I "THINK" it's some sort of P90 effect. It's not single coil though in the traditional sense. You need to set the dips to "split". That will give you the more classic single coil sounds like Fenders and superstrats, etc...

You also have "highpass" filters built in that can be accessed from via the dips too. If you don't want the tonal change when you roll the volume back you engage those. Independently switchable for each pickup. And lastly there's a transient suppression switch to make it easier to record the guitar direct to digital without overloading the recording device.

I'd like to see a more complete demonstration of the guitar. I haven't seen one that fully shows the capability of the guitar. 5 minutes of noodling while flipping the toggle and pulling the pots in and out doesn't really do it justice. I think if more people could actually see the features properly demoed people might not complain that "they don't need all that stuff".

Dont understand the negative comments. The LP 2019 series esp. the HP looks great and sounds awesome. After having had the Geforce and missing pickup rings, those LP's returned back to right direction.

I bought one of these on Reverb and returned it. They have REAL gain issues - much lower than my other Gibsons and Fenders.

The coil tapping sucks. It works like is cutting the high frequencies...

I like the 2017 over the 2019 Standard HP for the Robotic G-Force Tuner, the removable pick guard and the chroom push-pull switch.
Wait...and also for the price.

I like the direct mounted humbucker (no pickup rings) on 2018 Standard HP, but it cost 4 ugly holes on the back side.

Nice guitar, but pricey. Don't think the amp done the guitar justice to be honest

The pickup rings, the truss rod cover, the clear knobs and that awful burst make this guitar as tasteless as it could get.
