Big thanks to you guys. I’m a noob when it comes to wiring. This video helped me wire up some new lights on my Tacoma today. I knew I had to get around the relay, so I wouldn’t have to use their switch. I wasn’t 100% sure on how to do that, but this video helped me answer my questions and probably saved me a couple hundred bucks by not taking it to a shop.

Mate, just put the original fuse back in and use something like a 5a on the add a fuse.

The only thing the add a fuse is doing is turning on a relay so the circuits aren't always on.

A relay switch uses less than .5 of an amp. By using fuses that are rated higher than the original you are basically leaving those circuits unprotected.

The fuse needs to be the weakest link of a circuit. You can't use a fuse work more capacity with weak wiring. Otherwise your wiring becomes the fuse and it can catch fire while your fuse could be reused.

Thank youuu! This is the best auxbeam/taco install video out there. Nobody else's install videos describe exactly which fuse to tap into - I find that part super confusing and so that was VERY helpful. Though on the 2019 taco that 2nd one you ended up using is for the fog lights. Still works! I may eventually move that to the headlight fuse but I use all of them at the same time anyways so no biggy there. Curious how you ran the cable out of the fuse box, I ended up having to do a little drilling in the fuse box lid to accommodate the wire coming out

Thanks, came to see how wire passed through firewall😂

Just picked up that keypad adaptor last month in order to tame the spaghetti mess of lighting wiring in my bay. I wasn't about to drop a mortgage payment on a Switch Pro (even if it's more streamlined). The Auxmod has a IP68 rating so that should give you some peace of mind where waterproofing is concerned. Personally, I like the adaptive design of this product, also you can find wiring grommet material to help seal the exposed connections at your local HD, Lowes, or Ace.

Jesus Christ! You two are very intelligent. Hands down this is the best how-to video on YouTube. Others may know more than you but you know how to teach. Ive wathed hundreds of DIY videos on YouTube and thru are all very frustrating. Thank you both very much!

Hi guys, some else also posted that the add a fuse is completely separate from the original fuse that you tapped into for the power for the aux box.So the original fuse needs to be on the bottom of the add a fuse, than only a 5 Amp fuse is needed for the aux box.

That’s going to make the fuse panel a lot more difficult to service. For the next one maybe consider a separate panel that keeps your service headache free? An RTMR is a great choice.

I don’t know about replacing the smaller fuses in the box for a greater fuse that’s one way to overload, but the wirings is good👍🏻.

Thanks for posting this. I'm almost done installing mine and forgot about the accessory wire and was scratching my head so this vid was helpful. But between you having the version that has circuit connections on both sides and mounting on top of your fuse panel, it's going to be a rats nest of wires there once you start adding more connections to it and the more connections there are, the harder it will be to get into the fuse box

If you have all your light on and then you turn off your vehicle and the you turn the vehicle back on the lights will be on even you haven't press the on button in the switch panel?

great video guys. come up great. You've inspired me. I'd look at how much current that add a fuse us drawing, 20a seems a bit large for those circuits. don't want to burn out a cable in case of a fault. Remember fuses protect the cables, not the load. Cable size is determined by the load. Lastly i'd have the fuse supplying the box as close to the battery as possible.

How do you wire in the lights for backlight feature?

Ran into a problem when doing mine. Not sure if its realted.
Added fuse to the lights just like these guys. Ran through firewall, up the a pillar, everything works on the switch. I dont have accessories yet, this was in preparation for those coming soon.
I kept the amperage on the fuse the same, and the add a fuse is a 5. Fuses are all fine.
But what suddenly possibly just by awful coincidence does not work... is the 3rd brake light is out. And on the dash: travtion control light, abs light, collision warning, and cruise control does not work.

Checked fuses under dash and in engine bay, cant find anything wrong there. I do not think the installation caused any problems, after all the fuse we tied into, headlights, is fine and the lights work just fine. During troubleshooting i put the original fuse back and removed the add a fuse, essentially bringing it back to "stock", and no change on the dash and with brake light.

what amp fuses did u use for each type of light?

Nice video. I'm installing this in a 2015 Jeep tomorrow. Wiring front and rear lockers and a few sets of off-road lights to mine. Only concern I have about the Auxbeam switch panel is the lack of waterproofing on the panel under the hood. I might try some aftermarket waterproofing of that panel sometime.

Which fuse did you tap into and does the switch go off with the ignition? Thanks.

Quick question out of the blue. When installing the raptor lights for the add a fuse I put it on the head lights location which is 10 amps should I run the secondary fuse at a higher amp? Just curious
