Can school cellphone bans improve mental health?

Schools are looking for a way to reduce teenagers' cellphone use, as studies show too much screen time can have a negative effect on a child's mental health. One rural Massachusetts school banned smartphones for both teachers and students during class. Meg Oliver shares more.

Back when I was a kid in the 90's schools banned students from bringing drugs and alcohol to school, the ban didn't stop anything, this one won't work either

They have this in our school, all 4 schools can't have phones on campus. Imagine some idiot wanted to shoot up our school. We can't say goodbye to our parents.

Give a heads up to the parents though. Everyone complains that teenagers cant put down their phones but that stops the moment they try to call them and they don't pick up.

When I graduated from High school that's when the iPhone first came out and I said this is going to be a problem.

YES CHILDREN ARE SO DISTRACTED WITH CELLS....THEY DONT NEED THEM IN THE 60s 70s 80s 90s not one child needed a cell. THEY need to have time for all the curriculum of studies in school. They can learn much better

These kids will end up happier, now and in the long run. Thier “real life” social skills will be stronger in comparison to all other kids across the U.S.
