Global concerns grow over Omicron variant

Researchers are trying to learn more about the Omicron COVID-19 variant and whether or not it is resistant to existing vaccines or more deadly than other variants. CBS news foreign correspondent Debora Patta takes us inside one of the labs in South Africa where the new strain was first discovered. Then, Dr. Stanley Perlman, a professor of microbiology, immunology and pediatrics at the University of Iowa, joins CBSN to discuss the latest.

All I see from mainstream news outlets are headlines about the “growing fear over Omicron.” You know they are absolutely loving it. It’s sad.

The spike protein is what is supposed to make covid as deadly as it's supposed to be. However with this strain only showed mild symptoms and had 30 mutations in its spike protein. The odds of it being less deadly is pretty high. Global concerns is really pushing it.

The real concern I have is how YouTube is getting bigger on censorship and no longer showing the number of dislikes. Youtube is part of the problem.
