Early voting in the 2024 presidential election is at record highs in some states, but like so many other aspects of this election, the typical rules don't apply in interpreting the early vote patterns. Dan Pfeiffer, former Obama White House senior advisor, and Simon Rosenberg, political strategist and author of the Hopium Chronicles, discuss with Alex Wagner the state of the race and what can be gleaned from the early vote.

I live in rural NC and waited almost 2 hours to vote blue on Wednesday (day 6 of early voting). Anecdotally, I have to say, even though it looks like a lot of republicans are voting early, I’m optimistic that a lot of them are anti-Trump republicans, because I actually heard a lot of whispered chit chat in line about how they couldn’t wait to vote for Kamala. And again, this is from older, rural NCians. Also, not even a little bit surprised that the owner of Twitter is also simping for Putin.
