Working on Part 2 of this lol, I've gotten several messages on various socials and Discord to do 7 more SNES games, so I'm putting a list together, which ain't easy LOL and yes it's RPG heavy, but I'll post it here in a while, I'm glad ya'll are enjoying the video!

Civilization is my favorite game on the SNES and my favorite strategy game. It's just so crazy that such a massive micromanagement strategy game is not only on a SNES but it's actually an improvement of the PC version, with better graphics, bug fixes, gameplay improvements, an actual soundtrack for each age and better sound effects! Love this game to death ❤

I had a similar experience, I was born in 90 and the first games I remember seeing my older brother play were final fantasy 3 (or6) and Chrono Trigger on the snes. I was mesmerized and they left an enormous impact on me and influence the games I love today. Then I was introduced to super mario rpg and FF7 during the late 90s and those cemented my passion for RPGs. Btw Rect sent me.

So glad that we got Sailing Era to capture that New Horizons feeling! Though wish it got more of the empire politics... sneaking into Instabul to get the sweet carpet and bribing the guards was a great feeling!

Good choices over all, I can't really say I would change anything.

Lots of good choices here, but I bet you could do 7 more that would be even more interesting. Go deep, Anj!

Love this. I am an elder millennial and have pretty much the exactly same list and tastes.
Though, FFVI is my 'forever home". The emotional weight and tone of ff VI hit me a lot, lot harder than anything to date even.
I never did play Gengis Kahn - I would sub that with Shining Force on the genesis, or better, WC for the pc. I did Sim City on PC, and Sim City 2000 on the mac IIs. Much respect for your list, experiences, and insights.

Great stuff!

They didn't have Ghengis Khan at my local video store - They had Nobunaga's Ambition & Romance of the Three Kingdoms, but most importantly they had Pacific Theater of Operations! I loved it so much that I looked in a phone book and called a comic book store in a sketchy part of downtown to see if they had it! Jumped on a bus and hauled my 13yr old ass there without telling my parents and after emptying my bank account of all my saved allowance! Found the store with my hand drawn map and came home with my prize and managed to get away with my weak ass cover story to avoid getting grounded for a week! Glorious times ensued & even played with my dad, but didn't handicap my Americans enough so he had no chance!

Played the sequel, which was better, but loved the first one more!

My personal 7, in no particular order: Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Final Fantasy II, A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, Chrono Trigger, and Mortal Kombat II.

P.S. A special "Honorable Mention" goes to Super Mario All-Stars...cuz how could you not include it?
