What's under the hood of a Model S?

Figured I'd take a little time while I was doing some maintenance work, to go over what you will find under the hood of a pre-facelift Model S. Just a quick run through, so I apologize in advance if I seem all over the place. I hadn't intended to make this video, but figured it would give some usable info to those who were curios.

Excellent info. Interesting to learn about Tesla’s from a mechanical point of view.

I just picked up a 2015 model s from copart with a dead battery (both 12v and traction). There's no coolant in the reservoir so this clip is incredibly helpful to take apart the front plastics.

Cool thanks for taking the time to give a great overview. Particularly like the massive frunk space. Cant understand why the newer reardrive model 3 never properly exploited the free space for more frunk cargo.

Great overview, thank you!👍 I have a similar car (P85+ with AP1), how do you suggest to handle the dirt/salt under the frunk area without taking all apart as you did?

can all this components be wet? i saw some videos of teslas driving basically underwater in floods .... some people even take the bathtub out and wash everything including the engine to take any sand, mud and specially salt from it. But how does this procedure dont harm the car at all?

So for the big semi trucks are there also going to be radiators and water pumps for the truck? And I'm pretty sure there's going to be in an electric air compressor for the air bag suspension and the trailer correct?

Is there any problem with aluminium and steel degradation at the point of contact. We have that problem with fire trucks

Can you do a coolant change/flush without the Tesla Toolbox application? If so, any chance of you making a video?

Wow soo good.
Just a question about the referral to a motor in the newer Tesla’s. What is the motor and what is it used for? Is it gas or electric. Probably electric but for what ?
Loved your walk through it was great.

I've to replace a PTC, seeing this, I guess I have to get to there from the inside?

To be honest for a really high tech car you won't expect it to get so dirty in there!! Really diden't expect this!!

Terrible placement for the 12V battery. WTF were they thinking?

Damn, I guess every spring you better pull your frunk liner and hose it all out! Maybe spray some anti corrosion coating on it afterwards.
