Your GR Corolla will NOT catch on fire

I was forced to make this video (not really... Lol).

There has been A LOT of questions and commentary about 2 particular incidents involving the GR Corolla. Specifically, the 2 GR Corollas that caught on fire.

Reality... or better yet the current narrative has many people questioning whether the car is safe,.

I've been asked many times if I'm concerned about the 2 cars that caught on fire, what my thoughts are, what a potential owner should be concerned about, how many fire extinguishers do I own.

I'm just here to tell anyone looking into getting a GR Corolla.... stop stressing.

Let me tell you why.

Yup. I beat on my 24 circuit did two road trips in 115 plus temps going up mountains. Blasting through the Mojave desert going 134 mph with no issues.

Teslas are burning to the ground every day and people still buy them without hesitation - but 2 GR corollas catch on fire and it's game over 😂😂 Anyone saying they're "not buying the car because it will catch on fire" are not serious people. They were never going to buy one anyway.

Correction: *Very few are catching on fire

The fire is not people’s concern. It’s the data sharing.

Im looking at this "GR Corolla Issue" as a good thing.

Means I can probably get one without markups or even cheaper now 😊

Haters will say I'm taking this out of context, but I clearly heard you say, at 8:07, "All GR Corollas have caught on fire."
I would strongly urge all GR Corolla owners to trade their cars in at the nearest dealership before it's too late.
Especially if they're Circuits or Premiums in black or grey, and they live in the greater Los Angeles area.

Thank you and EXACTLY. The very few I mean VERY VERY FEW that did were unique situations and user error.

People are acting like the turbo 3 cylinder can't handle the boost, but the GR Yaris has been running it since 2020.

The 3 cylinder engine already been proven reliable in the GR Yaris overseas. Haven't heard of any GR Yaris catching on fire.

Just did a family trip in mine. 12 hours/1100km one way, plus another 6 hour daytrip in between. I think at some point it was at 90mph for an hour straight (long empty prairie road). Up and down the rocky mountains, probably averaged 80mph at 4000ft for half of BC.

Then took the car to a track day on the same oil. Absolutely reliable.

I saw someone complaining that Adam LZ was romping too hard on his giveaway GRC because "of the problems the car has had" and that pissed me off so much lmao, the car might have issues with the diff on longer or hotter track days but the car is very capable to be driven hard lol.

You're right MY corolla won't catch on fire. Because it is a 96 corolla.

If we wanna talk about engines blowing up, we can’t leave the STI out of the discussion, the Focus RS blew more head gaskets than a Subaru, Ford had to do a recall, and it’s not true Evo ownership until you’ve had to replace a timing belt.

Those cars are still beloved by their owners for good reason, the GR Corolla/Yaris will be missed in a similar fashion once it’s discontinued, and the same people that didn’t buy it will complain that there’s no cars like it being made anymore.

I’ve been saying this since this happened. Man just chill, your GRC is not gonna burn down. Thanks for using your platform responsibly

My man, I'm waitng to pay off the wife's RAV4 Prime, and then my little GR will come home. Ironically, the Prime HAD a recall for a fire risk, but Toyota took care of us. She loves that thing. I love my FJ, and I'm a diehard Toyota and Subbie owner. The GR will be my little retirement fun mobile, and I can wait to play with it in the hills. Thank you for the insight.

that guy had accident, and not just one accident. He is not being honest.

Its 100% the negativity. You saw how many channels jumped into the Toyota hate train once the Tundra engine thing happened.
