Diamond Drag Etching a Granite Tile

Used Carbide Create Pro…

…and Carbide 3D’s 90-degree MC Etcher diamond drag…

…to etch a scene in a 12”x12” black granite tile.

CNC controller is a Masso G3. The generic G Code produced by Carbide Create Pro worked just fine, though I’d modify the settings so that the retract height was only .050” instead of the .500” retract in the video.

Details:

Tool = MC Etcher 90-degree tip

Feed = 60ipm

Plunge = 30ipm

DOC (really the amount of spring compression on the engraver) = .050”
