Polyend Play: Midi Control External Synths

Note: Perform mode is not available in midi mode.

Although I kept this very high level, I was asking myself can the pads be programmed to send CC. I tried doing this and could not. The knobs I believe can be. There is no standalone software app like Novation components to allow assignment of the pads. That would be a cool feature update. I’ll have to do some more testing however I wanted to keep this one simple. If you’ve tried or know for sure that the pads can’t be programmed, please comment. Thanks.

Oh I would not mind owning this Polyend Play for the sole purpose of sequencing other gear. I can only imagine what would happen if you also bring the sequencer of the MicroFreak into the game. Fun!

I start and stop my Play with an MPC One over USB and it works great.

Do you if it will recorder automation like the rk-008 midi recorder. Say if you messed with the highpass on the microfreak and recorded it on the play?

Questions:

Can you use "play-chain" for externally sequenced synths?

Have you attempted to sequence multi-timbral synths with the Polyend Play?

I am looking for a song-mode for my five-part multi-timbral/multi-track Roland SH-4d because it doesn't have one.

I also own a Polyend Play but am not sure about its midi sequencing limitations/abilities.

Since it boasts 16 channels and the ability to sequence upbto 16 different synths, Itried to sequence multiple parts of the SH-4d using the Korg Electribe. But it will only allow playback of one channel at a time. So it will only play one SH-4d part at a time.

Before I shell out money on the KeyStep Pro, I'm trying to see what synths/grooveboxes that I currently own that also have external sequencing capabilities.

So I was wondering if you ever tried to externally sequence a multi-timbral/multi-track synthesizer using the Polyend Play? And if the 'play-chain' works with the Play's midi sequencer.

Trying to connect my east beast to my polyend play, i have both the channels set correctly and i have them plugged into eachother properly but they won't work together for some reason
