I love my AKG K-701. While wearing them, I hear everything in the room and can freely speak with the people in the room. They are lightweight, so I can use them for hours without fatigue.

Sennheiser are my favorite too! I have the HD600 which are great, but I actually prefer my HD560S the most and I use them for everything every day for hours! HD560S are my favorites! If I ever need new close backs I'll most likely buy the ones you show here. I have the DT770, but I don't use them at all anymore. From the headphones I've tried Sennheiser probably is the best, at least for my money.

DT770 represent. Mostly because they're built like tanks, are decently priced and have a pretty good soundstage for closed headphones. Been using various closed and semi-closed Skyluxes for a long time, but they just fall apart for me for some reason. Sennheiser are lovely, would love to use them, but the models I like are a bit too pricey for me.
Also the TRRS connection likely means they can be connected as balanced (or at least that's what headphone people seem to call this, I believe it's just that left and right channel have their own separate signal ground each).

Cool video, thanks.
I have the Oneodio Monitor 80. After ordering it i was worried because the monitor 80 is 250 Ohm, then when i tried it i was surprised how good it is, works perfect with my combo amps, verry good naturel tone. Great product for the price. Comes wirh 2 cables and 3 options to use them.

I just went with the 560S model. Plenty good for what I need, and under $200.

As an American, here usually anything German/Austrian (Sennheiser, Neumann, AKG) is somewhat expensive but well made and known for quality.

I have used a Sennheiser USB headset for nearly 10 years for my non-audio work and, although the wiring insulation below each earpiece has frayed to show the wires underneath, it still works. The ear padding came off long ago, though.

Usually with mics, headphones, and other gear, I end up asking, "Does Shure make a mid-priced version?" because it seems to be in the midrange where the most value is and the SM-58 is the most popular mic in the world, probably. I would certainly take a Neumann U87 if you gave me one, but Shure is good enough.

Sennheiser is only behind Shure because of cost and Sennheiser seems to be used slightly less in the industry (vs. a standard like the SM58). Sennheiser classics like the MD421 (often paired with the Shure SM57 on guitar cabs) should be in every mic locker.

As far as mixing headphones, I would think the flattest response possible would be a good place to start. I am 43 and can only hear up to 16 khz now so the part about the unnecessarily wide frequency range was a point well taken. There is no need to pay more for a wider range you will not use.

Since most people make music in rooms without acoustic treatment and most consumers listen to music on earbuds, I have never really understood mixing on audiophile equipment if budget is an issue.

Expensive monitoring equipment is certainly nice to have because you want your music to sound good in a variety of locations, but I often listen back through some fairly average 20+ year-old consumer grade Altec Lansing 5.1 speakers to replicate the average listener's experience. I also try out mixes in the car and on headphones. It is not optimal, but treating my room properly is not possible. I do the best with what I have.

Also, I loved the part going over the specs. It proves Germans *do* have a sense of humor. :)

I have used different gaming headsets, headphones, bluetooth headphones, etc. Sennheiser are always my favorite sounding. I haven't taken the plunge on bluetooth headphones for my phone yet though, I wish they would make something decent for exercising though. It's always tough to find good bluetooth headphones that don't fall out while doing push ups and sit ups.

I love both my Sennheiser HD660 and my Ultrasones.

Had some Sennheiser a couple of years ago, they were blutoth or wifi (dont remember) closed back.
And rechargable battery driven.
Extremely clear sounding, but in my ears lacking som base.
Think they was low high end gear.

Now i use AKG 240 studio.
Not as clear, but the base is more there. Not high end, but good enough for me.

Cool hedgehogs Henning.

Thanx for the video.

I have been using the Sennheiser HD558 for years. The only thing I don't like are the open backs so you can still hear your surroundings.

Had my HD600's for years, and will have them for many more. Because i can swap out all the parts if any of them breaks. Broken wire? Just get a new one and plug them in. And the sound is the best you can get for not too much money.

I also was using a lot of Sennheiser headphones in the past, but in the meantime I prefer AKG and Beyer headphones - especially the open types.

Do you prefer over the ear headphones or in ear monitors in general (when you need to use one)?
