Been out three times so far & it’s been lots of daytime miles hunting, only 10:00PM-4:00AM bites and 3 two-outs-bottom-of-the-ninth luck to hook & land a few 100+ fish. I installed aluminum gimbals on the butts of all of my rods. The gimbal and a gimbal socket rod belt really make fighting a fish easier even with lighter weight rods. They are especially beneficial with long jig sticks. The rel will not rotate using the gimbal and conventional reels will always stay on top. The gimbal will also help you apply more leverage when fighting a big fish. The gimbals I used had a rubber cup that I used when I didn't want to use the gimbal.
