Affinity Photo : Convert text to curves tutorial

Convert text to curves in Affinity Photo quick guide : 1) Use convert to curves button (top right) 2) Use layer menu and convert to curves (close to the bottom) 3) Right click text and select convert to curves. You can do that with artistic text as well as frame text. You can then use the node tool to manipulate the various points / nodes in Affinity Photo text

I have converted text to curves. However, I wanted to change the colour of the dot in an "i", but the dot and main body are still considered one object. How would you select just dot?

Not really doing Curves LOL, must be British definition of curves. more like "FREE FORM TEXT". Curve means it can be made into a circle or other with the entire word!
