Zambian police on Thursday arrested opposition politician Fred M’membe over a post alleging the DR Congo leader claimed to have paid his Zambian counterpart millions of dollars to buy off criticism. M’membe, leader of the Socialist Party, was arrested for “the offence of seditious practices.” The police said they acted after M’membe posted on social media on July 16 an article entitled President Felix “Tshisekedi tells DRC Catholic Bishops about the USD 20 million payout to buy Zambia’s silence.” Watch the video for more details.

First of all, Raphael Nakachinda isn't the the leader of any of the opposition parties that i know of in Zambia. He is the secretary general of the Patriotic Front(PF) which is the former ruling party.

Secondly, The Former ruling party PF, enacted the Insult against the presidency law under H.E Edgar chagwa. Now what happened was that When the government was changed in August 2021 with Hakainde Hichilema as the New incumbent president. Those previous laws were still in Active and the new president had no say in the happenings becouse we are a country built on laws not Authoritarian dictatorship. So you insult the president at your own risk, However, The way forward was to remove such laws through the law makers aka, to be discussed in the parliamentary and through the Cabinet the insult law against the presidency was removed by end of 2022. And that's part of the reason why you said by 2022 alone about 12 people were arrested but you couldn't find anything to talk about 2023 and so on.

Now the current wrangles has to do with Corruption cases and in recognition of notorious political Carders who were misbehaving during the previous regime, Such as that one of jay jay banda(currently on the ran) who urinated in the mouth of an innocent citizen and literally beat up the police.

Fred M'membe, the one guy who would literally be the potential successor only if he stopped his political baiting, Paying his company's workers and spreading conspiracy theories again and again.

Fred M'membe has not been arrested but rather jailed for seditious practices. An arrested person doesn't get bail or expected to be heard in the Courts of laws. He is jailed becoz he believes in another conspiracy that Felix Tshisekedi is bribing the president Hakainde hichilema to silence his critics and he says he has evidence. Am not going to call Fred M'membe a sham mainly because he says he has evidence to prove. The good thing here is that the current president is in the process of enacting laws to livestream court proceedings that are of interesting to the public becoz some of the corrupt politicians literally seemed strong in front of cameras but when they enter in court then they humble themselves and then boast afterwards.

I hope we get to see the evidence of this 80+yr old politician called Fred M'membe, Dr congo in itself has more critic politicians some of them who wants to overthrow that government and insurgents in East Congo and yet Felix spends money to silence critics. Zambia is Anglophone and congo is francophone, the two countries rarely interacts but what do i know
