Steve Carell Has No Interest In a Reboot of 'The Office'

'The Insider' caught up with the actor and his 'Despicable Me 3' co-star, Kristen Wiig and Steve admitted he thinks a revival of the hit NBC show would be a mistake. "It would not be the same," he explained. "I think people would be disappointed."

Maybe one reunion episode/special, but no reboot/revival/remake of the show. It ended perfectly. Honestly, just having a short youtube clip showing them all in a room talking and telling us where all the relationships and people are now would be fine by me.

It all depends on the writing, the script if it would be as good as the show or not. A good successful reboot can definitely be possible but it would be hard to make it as good as the show was, I do admit.

The only way I’d want The Office back is if the entire cast came back. He’s right though, it wouldn’t be the same. We would have new writers and the humor probably wouldn’t be as good.

I'm with the majority in the comments here, a reboot isn't what people really want, it would ruin the show. However, a small reunion featured on youtube with them all in a room talking about their current lives - or something, would be amazing.

honestly I think the office ruined micheals character. We never see him marry holly and HE DIDN'T EVEN INVITE ONE PERSON FROM THE OFFICE TO THE WEDDING. I think that dishonors the character alot. But still steve is a smart man. Enough of the stupid reboots

A reboot would ruin tarnish the legacy of the show. But I would love to see them make a Season 10 with 10 episodes of each main character and showing them where they are today, sort of like an update to their lives.

The Office should be left as it is. A reboot would ruin its legacy. Remember how the show was so different when Michael left? Remember how boring Season 8 was, and they immediately pulled the plug on it with Season 9 right after? It wouldn't work. A reunion "where are they now?" special would be interesting, but from a writer's stand-point, they'd need a reason to ALL come back together again. They kinda did that with the very last episode where it was set 1 year after the show's release, so what would the point be? They were documented, and that was that.
