For people getting errors still, you probably need a gcc compiler too. I just installed gcc-make-run as well and it went from the fabled 'g++ could not be spawned" error to just working fine.

you got mingw and gpp complier and if you still getting problems just watch this guy i dont know what i did mistake but its never complier atom gives me message all time like error and this guy fixed thank you soo much

For all laptops, including older Intel and AMD, such as 2.1 Ghz X2: you can turn on the atom energy saving feature, the instruction set at Balanced mode. You have to choose the inbuilt text editor, such as Word Pad, and write some sensible text, the laptop can understand. Few sentences are enough. Do it on battery. After a while the cpu load will reach 0%, the fan will remain silent. My laptop reached 0% on energy saving mode, and 3% currently on Balanced mode. Keeping on with text editing, the laptop may reach 0% load on all modes. On older laptops the battery is calibrated to 1 h 9 min max time, regardless of the power usage.
