Lenovo Legion 7i | Laptop on Screen is Black | Try this first

My Lenovo Legion 7i was working great and all of a sudden when I unhooked it from my external monitor, the laptop screen stayed black, no picture. After trying to reinstall drivers, I tried switching from performance mode to Hybrid Mode in the Lenovo Advantage software. I can't say this is a solution for everyone but there might be a limitation when trying to run on battery power with performance mode turned on.

If your screen is already black and ain't turning on at all no matter what you do

Do not do this as it will not allow you to use an external monitor and you will not be able to turn hybrid mode off

Now I am stuck with 2 black screens including my external monitor😞

What driver updates do you use for your rtx? I have been having many issues with my new 7i/R9/3080. Did a clean reset after a boatload of issues with black screen crashes in and out of games and inability to run on dual monitors or just using the extended monitor. Tried to fix with different versions of drivers and doing a DDU but eventually did a reset. Now trying to see if I can get things working right.

Lmao I had the same problem on my 7i due to updating nvidia driver. You have to start up and on load screen hit the power button back off, do it three times it’ll start in recovery mode. In screen choose advanced options and select start in safe mode with networking. Log in delete driver or uninstall adapter and restart than when you log back in download the previous version of the driver and you should be set

The newest 511.65 doesn't have this issue any longer. Hope that you've updated yours as well!
