After watching the video here is was I found on wikipedia :

"The bearded fireworm is a slow creature, and is not considered a threat to humans unless touched by careless swimmers. The bristles, when flared, can penetrate human skin, injecting a powerful neurotoxin and producing intense irritation and a painful burning sensation around the area of contact. The sting can also lead to nausea and dizziness. This sensation lasts up to a few hours, but a painful tingling can continue to be felt around the area of contact. In a case of accidental contact, application and removal of adhesive tape will help remove the spines; applying isopropanol to the area may help alleviate the pain."

Worms and caterpillars can have some extremely potent venom and poison. Like the one that has venom that causes a blood thinner effect so potent that it can resemble a hemorrhagic fever. I think it's the giant silkworm moth. I can't remember the scientific name.

Edit: Lonomia obliqua

I looked it up because I wanted to make sure I wasn't wrong. That is the scientific name, and it is the giant silkworm moth larva.

Are they ever in palm trees/robellinis? When I was a young child, I had something that looked a lot like that drop into my lap from a robellini palm and had essentially the same reaction (felt like my thigh was on fire).

That reminds me of urticating hairs on a tarantula. They can be worse than a bite.

0:36 why are you doing this to yourself. I know you want to see if it's, but seriously if I where in you're shoes. With the fireworm right in front of me. I would just release it, and say to myself "what was I thinking? Like sure I haven't found out if it's venomous, but there's no reason for me to do such a crazy experiment on myself. I could get anaphylactic shock.
