I haven’t been doing well lately so this has been life giving: I’ve been observing a pair of great horned owls in some poplar trees outside my home. Some days it feels like the only connection I can tolerate. I enjoy showing neighbors in hopes they can experience it too, sometimes sharing my binoculars. I don't understand why two teachers leading a retreat would not explain to the students what had happened so there could be a genuine human exchange and connection. Leaves one feeling empty in a sad way when you reflect on it.

This was beautiful. I doubt Tara Brach reads through these comments, but I so wish she would stick to this message.
I know she has talked of feelings of guilt that have moved her into the political realm, but there are enough political voices out there. By all means be friends with the activists but her voice and energy have been co-opted and weakend by this movement.
Anyone listening to her messages such as this one will automatically internalize her beautiful and loving approach to the world. By sullying her message with political divisiveness she is only going to turn people away who otherwise might have developed in the ways she teaches.
