I was in the audience, not terribly far from the stage. The sheer power of this performance cannot be captured on a video: my pulse was racing by the end! I was so pleased that barbershop's Kiwi Chorus brought some Haka to the International competition stage! (So few of us Americans know what a Haka is.) This was the performance of the day that made me happiest. Congratulations to Vocal FX - you are stars. Every New Zealand barbershopper I have met has been the greatest ambassador for New Zealand. I am a fan of Vocal FX.

Wow! I don't believe I've ever made a rude comment on YouTube before, but if I did it would be directed to the four (so far) people who gave this a thumbs down. Though the chart doesn't sound at all like contest barbershop to my old ears, it does sound like FANTASTIC acapella music. Every accolade is so well-deserved! BRAVO!!! The rhythm, the dancing, the unbridled passion, the ownership of the character of the group, the execution, the ownership of the music. Holy cow!

well done New Zealand, there will be people out there that do not understand what the Haka is about, so don't knock what you don't know.  Actually they probably don't know where New Zealand is full stop.
