Two-Stroke Revival: Yamaha YZ325 Project Build

We had the opportunity to test ride a 2006 Yamaha YZ325 monster machine two-stroke. TJ Boyle presented to us his #twostroke project build that we can guarantee is a head-turner. Boyle made his way down from Arizona and met us at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park where we could put this build to the test. Click play to find out what exactly went into this project bike and hear that crisp two-stroke scream.

I have to said.
a) The build of this bike is the perfect combination of love and talent...
b) It is so agreable to lesson (attentively) someone with the rich vocabulary and savoir faire to describe such splendid bike
To both a generous "Bravo"!!!

Bike is awesome ! You nailed it !One thing I think you should consider adding is the
Ride Engineering Performance Link to your linkage. I can't say enough about how much I like it on mine. It's just the dog bone piece of the linkage.

I like this guy, reminds me of my brother. Hey bro I'm just looking for a cheap yz... then proceeds to throw the entire bike away and builds it into a factory race bike 🤣😂👌 solid gold!

Amazing bike. You’ve set the bar for what a YZ 2stroke should be

I have a yz325 as well and it’s got the lectron, rekluse auto clutch, v force 3 reeds, big bore, over sized radiators (I ride trails), bonzi suspension plus more, it’s definitely a sweet bike and good for what I do

Absolute kickass bike. I've got an '05 YZ125 and I wouldn't be surprised if I end up also getting a YZ250 at some point, and this is the pinnacle dream configuration for one to have. Didn't know about that RTech plastic kit. I have the UFO restyle kit on mine, which I like, but since it still uses the stock tank which has graphics on it, the white accents on my tank graphics have turned yellow. Ditching the stock tank would be a treat.

There's 10k or more plus the bike cost... but damn is it gorgeous. Better than a new YZ! Infact, only thing different on the 2022 to the 2006 is in the airbox and intake to get more air. Idk if it would but since the frame should be the same, he could get an intake off a 22 YZ and get more air to the big bore, or just drill some holes as long as he doesnt go over board. The brakes are slightly different in stock trim compared to the 06 but he took care of that and then some... best thing about a YZ/F, SSS forks! I've had bone stock SSS suspension straight off the showroom without even touching clickers and they were better than most of my bikes that I've had sent to Marshall Plumb. And he does amazing work. If you get some SSS suspension and send his way, it'll blow your mind when you get it back. Those forks were way ahead of their time when they came out in 2006, still the best stock fork by far in my opinion. It's hard to get a fork that plush snd still have hold up
