The Gerald r ford top speed is actually top secret. They say quote on quote 30 knots but for a fact I know it can move heck of a lot faster trust me when I say this. It’s like the movie the A team with a flying tank but with a carrier. Not really flying but the ford carrier can move if in a real emergency at 100-120 knots.

For that ship total reactors output is 208 MW or 104MW each reactor and 30-35 knots back then around 1970-2000 was fast but going into 2024 a carrier with even 2 reactors at 100-200 MW each isn’t much even if you have 2 each at 200MW or 400 MW total wouldn’t be much. And at 100k tons and 40 knot top speed isn’t that fast. Even 50 knots for a carrier
