Why would you need hand protection if you're *just better?*
-the Poles

As a Pole, needing hand protection is a clear sign of being from a weak bloodline.

I personally love the Polish saber. The fluidity of the fencing and overall style just can't be beat in my mind

As a Pole myself, I cannot take such a slander. OUR national saber that COMPLETELY wasn't ripper of original sarmatians deserves at least S+++ tier.

That bandage on david's finger is a good reminder of what could happen when parrying with your hand

The lightsaber does have a sing edge, though. It just happens to be everywhere on the blade.

I really love how you're emphasizing the "hand protection" part with having a massive neon bandage on your finger

As a completely unbiased Pole, I believe the polish saber should deserve tier at least

Do keep in mind that sabers of the middle and early modern ages, such as the Polish saber or Shamshir, had less hand protection because wearing armor was much more prevailent at the time, and these were ultimately battlefield weapons, often paired also with a shield or off-hand weapon. As we move forward in history, the built-in hand protection increases since armor gauntlets are being phased out. The duelling saber is, end of the day, a sporting tool rather than a killing instrument in sense of design, since by the time it came around, duels were not fought to the death most of the time.

The Polish saber has that little hand protection because of a special technique called "Młyńce" it was basically a rotating or turning saber with high speed to confuse your opponent and have advantage

Polish soldiers salute with 2 fingers and one legend says it's to commemorate a brave soldier who lost 3 of his fingers in a battle but still managed to report to his commander. Well... poor hand protection of Polish sabers would explain why this happened~

Got his finger cut and suddenly had the idea to rank weapons with hand protection 😑

I think the person who has their finger wrapped knows better about the necessity of hand protection

Fun Fact!

It’s very likely that Lightsabers do in fact have an edge, which is why they occasional (particularly when wielded by a low skill individual) bounce even non-lightsaber resistance materials.

That said it’s still a bar of hyper condensed plasma, even if you’re not hit by its edge it will still burn and scorch a line into whatever it does hit so best avoided.
