Although I know that Olivia isn't probably talking about Sabrina but I disagree with her opinion about writing positive songs not being interesting there is nothing wrong with writing songs about heartbreak and pain but it is refreshing when artists write songs that are positive or happy/healing because skinny dipping to me is a healing song the song is about letting go of the past and moving forward it's a song where two people who use to date are having and awkward conversations in a coffee shop skinny-dipping doesn't just have to be about having a conversation with an ex it can also be about maybe a horrible fall out with a friend or a family member or even a past traumatic experience you had and you learn to let go and heal from it because sometimes holding on to grudges, bitterness and pain can be more harmful to yourself than others so it's important to let go and skinny dipping reminds you of that and also i think skinny dipping shows Sabrina's maturity and growth she learned how to let go of the past and move forward
