I swear I remember “new gate” being an ordinary mmorpg (vr) but after Shin and his party defeated the demon lord and his team had logged out suddenly the D-lord had another death spasm revealing he was an actual dark god and had been hiding from the “good” gods in that realm (meaning the simulated game world) and he blasted Shin in some way tossing him into a real version of the game world but many years in the future. Basically a lot of twisted plot to make a character that was transported from a game world into a real version of the same world.

The first part sounds like the first season of Sword Art Online. From the trailer it sounds like he is *already* *overpowered* when he gets transported 500 years into the future.
