Neighbors Show Up to Support Beloved Dog’s Final Walk

It's the final walk for a beloved dog named Mellow. For seven years, the rescue pooch was by Kevin Curry's side. Now, he doesn't have much time left. Mellow was diagnosed with b cell lymphoma cancer. Curry put a note on his neighbors’ mailboxes reading: "While I still can, I'll be marching around the neighborhood. Come out to pat me on the head or rub my belly." The entire town of Dupont, Pennsylvania, showed up in support of Mellow's final walk.

Oh man I’m tearing up. My chihuahua is 14 years old I’m already starting to dread the day he will eventually have to go to doggy heaven so I’ve been spending more time with him and giving him his favorite food and extra treats and taking him out a lot more. RIP Mellow.

This is hard to watch. I just lost my dog of 19 years. This was the hardest loss of my life. I had her since she was a puppy. She was my best friend/soul mate.

this pain will always last and it hurts even years later. I lost my good boy 3 years ago and I miss him every day. While I'm happy he suffers no longer, it hurts me every day when I remember all his antics. Rest in Peace Hercules and Mellow.

My dog passed away 2 days ago. I moved to the US for school from Japan and I was gonna see him for the first time in 4 years next month. I was so excited to pet him again and to spend every second with him. It’s so hard and sad to think that that will never ever happen. I will forever regret not going back sooner to see him:(

Wow, what an amazing community to come together to show their love and support for Mello. It is one of the worst feelings in your entire life to lose your furry friend. In 2019 we lost our amazing dog Oakie and less than 30 hours later my sweet cat Pumpkin passed away. They were best friends in life and now best friends in heaven. RIP sweet puppy dog Mello

My girlfriend’s dog is undergoing a similar situation right now. Every time I visit I bring him a big fat rotisserie chicken and pet the hell outta him. He’s the goodest boy I know 🙂
