Congress leader Rahul Gandhi stands disqualified as a Member of Parliament following his conviction and sentencing in the criminal defamation case by a court in Surat, Gujarat. The communication regarding his disqualification from the Lok Sabha has been sent to the Election Commission among other relevant authorities.

So, while Rahul Gandhi charts his legal recourse, which could well be a long-winding process, the political path to the 2024 General elections and beyond could also be challenging.
