Thanks, i found this video when deciding if i should go for the 3 or 3s as i had never heard of the bolt before, but it looks like the bolt is just an upgraded unifying dongle thats not compatible with the original.

Thank you. Bought a "3S for Mac" for my PC because I liked the color better and it was cheaper. Mac doesn't come with a receiver. Couldn't connect to my existing Unifying receiver. Connects to my motherboard bluetooth no problem but if I turn that off by accident, it's a pain. Now I know I need a "Bolt" receiver instead of a "Unifying" receiver. So much for my bargain.

bolt ricever not compatible with unifying device is so stupid…now I have to connect 2 usb receivers to my PC..in order to use the logitech mouse and keyboard

I just got the mx 3s for mac. Can I use my existing unifying receiver? If not, can I buy the bolt receiver and connect to Windows?

Both unifying receivers can pair up to 6 devices. I picked up the 3s and MX Mechanical Mini. GF got tired of me borrowing her 3. I lost her reciever, so figured I could just give her one of the new ones. I was wrong. I was hoping they would be backwards compatible.

Pico unifying receiver is the best from logi. Love the tiny size, plug it to laptop & forget.
