i will NEVER forget the 1st time i heard this song i was in 7th grade. i had a dentist appointment & my mom let me stay home after. I was in my living room, eating Chips watching MTV but not really paying attention, until this video came on. i deadass stopped what i was doing & was in awe & so mesmerized. After it went off i immediately got on my computer to look this song up. i didnt catch the name of the song our his name it took FOREVER to find i was so irritated but I WAS DETERMINED to find out who this man was & why he felt the need to snatch my soul by creating this masterpiece & i finally found it. i was so happy! i played this song out! i listened to more of his music & LAWD! it was official i was obsessed & a lifelong fan. i put him on to my brother & he loved him too! this song makes me happy & brings back amazing memories & the best time in my life when i was genuinely happy. this man Is a gift to the world 😘 listening to this as an adult, man these lyrics ..wow

I have just discovered this song and I’m in my 40’s. Never saw OTH. There is a foundational wisdom to this that is rarely talked about in life. For me it’s about owning who you are, being authentic, knowing who you are and standing on those foundations as being a healthy way to live your life! For anyone struggling with life, applying these principles before advancing beyond this point would be a great way to succeed in life! We need better foundations to build on.
