So many fantastic books! I read and loved North and South and Wakenhyrst this year too so I'm happy to see them featured in your top 10. The Binding is an utterly amazing book too. I received As Meat Loves Salt for Christmas so cannot wait to read that one. It sounds like I am in for a treat!

Nice selection of books! I just added Wakenhyrst to my TBR. I have enjoyed several of Michelle Paver's novels (Dark Matter and Thin Air) so I think I'll like this one too. I read Burial Rites when it first came out and really enjoyed it! I've been toying with doing a review of it because I feel like not enough people on BookTube talk about it. I recently picked up The Binding from my library and will be reading it very soon. This video has made me even more excited to get to it! Happy New Year!

I have never been to England, but any time a book says it takes place in the Fens I am like fist pumping (internally because I would scare the natives with sudden movements, lol) because I think that must be where my spirit animal must reside. Plus it makes for the best settings for books. Also, I wish we lived close by each other because I would totally have you help me decorate my house. I don’t know the word for a person who has little decorating ability (not a brown thumb, that’s plants - a black eye?), that would be me. Your house is so beautiful and atmospheric in a good way. You have a lovely home 💕

I read Burial Rites in a park during a particularly warm and beautiful summer, and yet I was completely engrossed in the world of wintery rural Iceland. If that's not a testament to wonderful writing I don't know what is.
