New Boat For 2021!! Aluminum Jet Boat!

Let's go exploring! This aluminum boat has been Matt's dream for 3 years! While fast bass boats and advanced technologies are important parts of bass fishing, there is something to be said for a basic aluminum that can run in skinny water, away from the crowds. Come along as Matt shows his new (used) aluminum boat and talks about where TacticalBassin is headed in 2021!

The boat is a War Eagle 1754 With a Yamaha 4 Stroke 70 HP motor. Its going to allow Matt and Tim to explore backwaters, ponds, rivers, and creeks, that could never be explored with the bass boat or even the kayak. They will be able to venture into new areas, reach untouched fish (hopefully) and take you along on all kinds of adventures! Matt is keeping the boat very simple. He's installing a depth finder and a trolling motor so the guys can fish comfortably, but that will be the extent of the technology.

When its time for advanced videos, the guys will be in their bass boats. When its time to just go fishing and have a good time, they'll be in the aluminum, and when its time to pick apart places that can't be reached by either one, they'll be in the kayaks.

Below you'll find links to the handful of upgrades Matt is making to the boat, along with some of his favorite tools and equipment that he put into the boat for safety and reliability. All of the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

As a smallmouth addict with a jet jon as well, I'd recommend you take the jack plate off that boat. Find a good welder to weld on a transom extension and bolt the motor directly on the transom at the proper height. Set back on a jet motor won't help it out. But I'm looking forward to you hitting rivers with it for smallies.

Won my first tournament of the year on Rayburn. 194 boat field, couldn’t have done it without this channel.

If you drive up into Wisconsin this spring be sure to spend a day fishing Chicago. The prespawn smallie bite on Lake Michigan is AWESOME, and you can also run into steelhead, brown trout, and coho salmon!

You dudes are going to love this one! I have a 16' jet, it's hard to beat, great way to get far away from other people and find untouched fish.

I'm really glad that you guys got the hell out of the left coast capital of California! Welcome to Tennessee, land of no income taxes.

You need to get some push poles if fishing shallow water, sometimes your trolling motor can't work if it's in grass or cover.

Thank You Matt for sharing & keeping the Sport basic. Not all Technology & Expensive Boats catch fish. The Anglers Do. That is why I view the Tactical Bassin channel. Your program is about Teaching & Learning. Sharing your Experience with Others to catch More Bass.
Matt & Tim Take Care, Be Safe & have a Fantastic Year on the Water.

One great upgrade for that boat would be a sheet of UHMW bolted to the bottom with flush bolts. We used it in Alaska for all the jet boats that ran in really shallow water. Makes it easier to get unstuck also, super slippery stuff. I promise its worth it

I hope this means a matt an tim musky I've been obsessed with musky the last few months but I'm stuck on the bank and not able to target them yet, plus its freezing cold in ohio. I love you guys! Some guys look up to lebron, some guys look up to jordan, or derek Jeter, I look up to tactical bassin! Thank you for being fishing nerds, somthing I can relate too!

I have ran a outboard jet since December of 1982. Properly piloted great for shallow water.

Those jet motors are slick as all hell. I watched a water rescue crew do some training in our river using an inflatable aluminum boat with a jet and they were running up fast muddy rapids with ease. Fun new toy for the TB team!

Good call on ditching the hand control. Threw myself off a couple years ago. Lol. Thought I'd "try" the bill dance style hand control, no go. Foot control going forward.

Matt, I ran a tin rig for several years and fished the mid-Susquehanna river. I preferred a hand TM with a extended handle, I preferred keeping both feet on the floor when fishing the rivers especially during higher river flow. I really loved river fishing during high river flow as it positioned the fish to the available cover. The TM was a 24v (the largest I could get at the time) I split the batteries to distribute weight.
