BAND:
Gitar: Fuat Güner
Bas gitar: Merih Dumlu

--------------------

Being among the founders of the “Kaygısızlar” band that was formed in 1965 — a group that made collaborations with Barış Manço —, Fuat Güner and Mazhar Alanson got together again and published “Türküz Türkü Çağırırız” album. It consisted of Mazhar Alanson’s own compositions and those that were made for the ballads of minstrels such as Aşık Veysel and Yunus Emre. Musicians such as Özkan Uğur, Ayhan Sicimoğlu, and Hale Alanson — the wife of Mazhar Alanson — contributed to this album.

“Adımız Miskindir Bizim” is used in American rapper Action Bronson’s song “Easy Rider” as a background. The lyrics of the original song belongs to Yunus Emre, a significant minstrel of the 13. and 14. centuries.

After this album, Mazhar and Fuat founded “İpucu Beşlisi” band in 1976, gathering Özkan Uğur, Galip Boransu, and Ayhan Sicimoğlu. After it disbanded, a new band named “MFÖ” was formed in 1984.

Dear friends from Turkie, wonderfull country, full of culture, with a great past and a bright future don't turn yourself into what Europe's politicians might think of you or your country.... We, the people know that your one of a kind, exceptionnal, talented and wise, please dear friends make this country proud of its origins, from all areas, make it open minded and tolerant as you're great father and mother did it, even I'm not muslim, I'll pray for you until peace has come ... We are the people, just spread out all over the place, one big family, let's all unite !

besteciye, söyleyene elbette selam olsun. Ama yazana da rahmet olsun. Yunus Emre, bin yıl önce öz Türkçe ile yazmış. hala anlıyoruz, dinliyoruz.

The lyrics of the song come from 1240s from a sufi poet named Yunus Emre. In those years, long before enlightenment in Europe, the Anatolian land was thriving with humanist atmosphere with Turks, Greeks, Armenians, Jews trying to build that atmosphere. The lyrics reflect that air of peacefulness and friendship and no prejudice against each other. It goes saying, "we do not know what the hate is, all the world is the same for us"

Once I asked a restaurant to play this song, they accepted! I felt so proud, both for asking but also for listening to these greats and not some drum sounds with effect on noises. This is art, this is skill this is not some 5 minute studio music with no meaning. To everyone who is out there who still listens to these beutifull songs, don't stop, people around you may not be the same but dont forget you are listening magic and real music.
