Mate you need to turn right at the Tarbet end of the Loch Lomond road, you will drive around the end of Loch Long and up the Rest and be thankful. Amazing views from the top with a car park and a great food van. If you continued on you can go left to Dunoon alongside Loch Fyne or continue on and go around the other side of Loch Fyne past the original Oyster and seafood shop into Inveraray and onto Oban

The A82 at Dumbarton side is one of the busiest roads in the central belt. I stopped that’s last time I was going north to Fortwilliam. There’s an M&S foods there too as well as the black rooster. If you managed to sleep there, hats off to ya!

Try the road from the Penrith end of Lake District and down past Ullswater through Petterdale and then up over the Kirkstone pass.

You were very lucky that road is usually very busy with lorries and the road is normally littered with wing mirrors.😮

Great video Darran. Do you have any opinion about victron vs renogy inverters?

I never tire of that view, I stay about 3 miles from that black rooster and 1 mile from the Loch.

I have a 18’ speed boat registered on Loch Lomond, not been out much this year due to the worst summer ever. I have been on Inchconnachan Island many times and still not seen the wallabies 😂

I know there used to be a a small boat to ferry people across to Inchmurrin (the big one with the hotel) only runs from April.

I think you can get ferry to other islands from Luss. But the locals are know for being moaners 😂 they want the money but don’t wand the traffic.

That road can be a nightmare, I did it this year and encountered wagons passing buses, one after the other ! Must say the professional drivers are incredible 👍

Also go to Inveraray, , drive past Tarbert from Glasgow, straight past the hotel and follow you nose up by Loch Fyne and step back in time to the 18th century, , , the Ardloii hotel is very good for a meal at night or in the bar during the day on the way to Fort William just past Tarbert.

Amazing views Darren and great video. May I ask where is the best place to look for a reliable van to convert to a camper van. Secondly where would you recommend getting a conversion done if anywhere?? Thankyou

Hi, when we were over there in 2004 we stayed at lockaline and the miges there was like a fog, how in the hell can you live or breathe with them about . Enjoying your show so save travels, travelling between Christchurch to Kaikoura here in New Zealand, now that’s a great drive, up near Kaikoura you drive alone the coast the scenery is fantastic with seal sunning on the rocks cheers John c (nz)
