Thanks for these videos! I've been looking at the bundle with the Console 1 and Fader. Yours is the first set of reviews that mentions limitations in Logic, which is the only DAW I use, so I'm glad I watched these before I made the purchase. I think the lack of control for basic things like volume and panning is a deal breaker for me. Then it can't control buses either. Yeesh! Might be time to go back to Reaper! Pretty crazy that Reaper supports VST3, but Logic still doesn't in 2021. lol

U inspired me to start using my console1 again and I love it.
Ableton has full functionality using VST3! I guess that’s what was missing for me.
Might even get the Fader now.

I know that you madre this awhile back but THANK YOU, I was loading in regular VST instance of Console One and it really wasn't jiving with Reaper. I recently jumped ship from Ableton for mixing, because its so big and clunky (need the extra processing power for plugins) - and Reaper seems great. The lack on C1 integration was making me very sad - until I found this video. THANK YOU

Pretty sure that Cubase issue would only apply to the LE version you were trialing. Thanks for the detailed video. What is your DAW of choice these days, and do you still use the Console 1? I'm thinking of buying it along with the fader for my Cubase Pro 12.

I have been waiting for logic pro's deeper integration for years. Softube has told me it's all on logics end. When i mix larger sessions i use Studio one 4 as everything works as it should. So I share the pain with Logic. Logic is my daw of choice. I have glaucoma and i need something that just works the way it should. Another problem in logic!! let say I have superior drummer and i want to add Multi Outputs. When add console 1 The tracks are all over the place in the console 1 window.

In Cubase, you didn't select the VST3 version of Console 1...you need to select the version of the plugin that has the 3 dashes to the right of the insert. You chose the one below that...which may have had something to do with the issue you saw on screen. Cubase does support the features if you use the VST3 version of Console 1.

Hello, I would like to see if you can get me out of a doubt. I bought a Console 1 fader and I use the reaper. I installed the plugin and everything else. But I wanted to use the Console to control my DAW directly and not just the plugin. I don't know if I was wrong and it doesn't have the function to control the DAW directly or if I don't know how to configure it. If you can help me I would be grateful

My console 1 on screen window is completely interrupted. Strange graphic issues. Any tips?

Hi Jason, Thanks for the video. Is it still part of your daily workflow today?

Great video BTW. I was gonna suggest, and then you beat me to it, that for whichever DAW you decide, get the Transport DAW Controller for it.

My simple setup, across many DAWs, is C1 and QWERTY Keyboard in the middle, Trackball in my right hand, OG Faderport in my left, and that crucially allows a Foot Pedal for start stop.
(I also have a couple of iPads running TouchPortal and other apps that give me one click control over whatever. Looking at Streamdeck and Loupedeck CT soon.)

But know that Reaper has an Browser based app that does some of what Logic Remote does. And if you stick with Cubase, they have the CC121. It aint cheap, but its more tightly integrated with the DAW than anything outside of AVID, for way less money.

Hi Jason!
Fot the functions that doesn't work in Logic, wouldn't it be possible to do some kind of midi mapping to get things like volume and panning working? I don't own a Console 1 but planning on buying one.

I think you missed the VST3 in Cubase.

Great demo, Jason! I just got mine, and have a beginner question. From what I see, Logic doesn't support the possibility to have "Use DAW track selection", as you've in Reaper for example. Am I correct? I've some film scoring templates with 800 tracks, and it's a pain to reach a specific track using the "page" button in the hardware. Is there're any workaround you might suggest? Thank you!

In Reaper, I'm having an issue where I need to turn my volume knob like 10 times to get to hear anything when I start with my faders at zero. Is that a way to shorten the range of thr volume knob on console 1?

So sad that you can’t control the plug-in directly as it’s open up in front. Only inside the console 1 instrument!
In the Apollo console surface this is possible!
Common softube!

I'm considering buying one of these. My audio PC is permanently offline. Can I download the software and authorise it on my online browsing laptop then transfer the software to my offline pc?
