Get rid of that E.V I’ve never seen anyone so stressed over a car. Thanks so much for all your efforts Lee, perhaps a nice break is what you need.

I never really comment on videos, but this particular video struck a chord with me. It takes a brave man to admit they are broken, I myself have very recently found myself in tears in front of my partner and two young children and having to go to my old and very unwell Dad to ask for help. The haters will hate and no matter what your mindset or attitude they will eventually pull you down. The content that you make really helps me on my journey towards mental peace if you like. I always holiday in the UK and first found you when searching on YouTube for Scarborough as we were due to go on Holiday there in 2021 and your video popped up. I have since watched all your Blackpool, Whitby and other videos round the UK and they get me the wife and the kids psyched up for going on our holidays. Whether you upload once per day or once per month we will continue to watch. Lots of love and best wishes from a slightly pissed but definitely broken Scotsman who finds solace and pleasure in your content.

The reason I started watching your vlogs was the way you carry out your work, professional, friendly and interesting. Whatever you manage to put out going forwards, all your real viewers will love the content and will never mind the frequency. Life’s a balance and that includes a work life balance. Take care Macmaster.

Just take care of yourself Lee, as a Dr I can't stress enough, no pund intended, how important it's to take some time off and change certain things to get a better life and i.e better health. ❤

Listening to this was like hearing my own story and probably many others youtubers stories. I thought all of this through before I started my channel and deliberately didn't get on the hamster wheel. I produce a video once every 2/3 weeks and thats it. Obviously my channel is teaching British Indian Restaurant style curries at home so I couldn't practically make daily videos. The passion would have died.
But I totally get the need not to vanish and the work involved, ie, ideas, filming, editing, uploading, typing, SEO, promoting, comments, emails etc, it's actually never ending. My sister in law had the cheek to belittle what I did and referred to as a silly little hobby. Her 9-5 Admin job pales into insignificance compared to what we have to do. Apart from anything else our thoughts are occupied 24/7 and that's part of the stress that can occur. The feeling of never being present in the moment. Even in Holiday in on my phone checking stuff. You actually don't get days off.

Anyway, love your channel but go easy on yourself, reduce the level and you'll still get what you deserve. Take care.

I burnt myself out completely. I was a self employed builder and worked 6 and sometimes 7 days a week. I loved working hard, the harder the work the more I loved it. Then at 42 my body began to give out to the point I’m now disabled. I ignored my body telling me to slow down and paid the price.

As a fellow content creator, i can sympathise with every single word you spoke.

Until you’ve actually run a channel full time, i don't think you can really understand the amount of work that really goes on behind the scenes. It is something that completely takes over your life. YouTube is a 24/7 job.

Dont get me wrong, the rewards can be very good, but you do pay a high price for those rewards, especially with your mental well-being.

In the past few weeks i've had to scale back my uploads due a few things going on behind the scenes, and it does feel like you get punished for taking any sort of break away from your normal upload routine.

If you ever want to chat in private to a fellow creator, dont hesitate to contact me, as i know exactly what its like.

Wishing you all the best mate 🙂 👍

I've just found you through Geoff and your challenge of a diesel /EV trip. I really felt for you. I thought you were both fantastic and have subscribed to your channel. Keep doing what you're doing only when you're up to it and look after yourself. I'll look forward to watching your back catalogue and any new videos you may do.

You’re absolutely right Lee, everyone has their limit, a cut off point where their bodies and brains say they’ve had enough. It’s definitely not a sign of weakness when exhaustion or burnout strikes. It can happen to anyone. I’ve been working in the health sector for years and now and also more recently as a counsellor and have seen many people experience similar. As you know from personal experience, it’s a very scary thing when it happens. I’m so glad to hear you’ve slowed down a bit as not everyone heeds the warning their body is giving them. Well done for being able to slow down, it’s not easy. All the best…..❤❤

Hi, glad to see your on the mend, I burnt out at 29 from just working too hard just to provide for my family. I've only started doing videos to help and teach people how to do stuff, if I don't pass on what I've learnt over a lifetime before I kick the bucket it's lost . I'm running an classic engineering business and do videos when I can and that's where it stops. I learnt from burning out at 29 nothing is worth you health and I'm now 57 and don't give a monkeys what anyone else thinks. Look after yourself, it's too late when your gone.

Since you read all your comments, no doubt you'll read this one. I've been fortunate enough to have led a very interesting life. I've been involved in cars and motor-racing since I could walk and actually racing for more than 60 years! I served my country and, after a break when I lived and worked in America, I came home and was the CEO of what used to be the second fastest growing company in Europe. Along the way, I collected a number of Doctorates too.
So, why am I boring you by blowing my own trumpet now? I'll tell you. I've NEVER allowed myself to be ruled by my work; so I've never been anywhere near to any kind of breakdown. In fact, listening to you and hearing how your life has bashed you about, I'm bloody thankful not to have shared your experience.
The way I live my life is also the reason why I've never written anything biographical or opened a YouTube channel - it sounds horrific! Oh, I can see that you enjoy what you do, that comes across very clearly; but I wouldn't want to pay the price that you have.
Look after yourself Lee, you'd be a terrible loss to thousands of people if anything happened to you. All the haters and EVangelists would have to find someone else to tear apart - and they've worked so hard at denigrating you, poor dears. (You see, Lee, they don't know how small-minded they are)
Your blooming Taycan seems to be really getting under your skin lately too. I fail to comprehend why you leased an EV in the first place - or were you just having a bad day? Get rid of the damned thing - now! Stop your payments and h and it back. Don't pay another penny on it; on the grounds that, having given it every chance possible, It's simply: "Not fit for purpose!" The finance company will squeal and threaten, but they'll know they can't win because you have many recorded hours of solid evidence to back up your statement.
Then you can buy a top grade used self-charging hybrid (a Lexus would suit you) and be happy, debt free and able to enjoy motoring again. (You'd have the perfect weapon to beat Geoff too)
That's it from me, keep on making brilliant videos for us all to enjoy.
Good luck, have a fantastic 2024; I'll be watching - we all will.

Lee please take it easy, it’s like any job, when we are off work sick we don’t concentrate on getting well, we stress about the work load and if things are getting done properly. Your health is your wealth lad, get better, you will bounce back, and continue being an amazing channel. YouTube don’t care about your health they care about making money via your amazing videos.
