"All persons born or naturalized in the United States are citizens of the United States."

The words are in plain English. It is unconstitutional.

BORN IN AMERICA = UNITED STATES CITIZEN

An attorney's job is to take the written law and the Constitution - and interpret it all in a way that benefits their client.
These two are absolutely NOT telling us truth. They are saying what they would say if they were standing in front of a judge, trying to win a case for their client.

THE most quoted Supreme Court case about birthright citizenship is US v Ark. In it, (I read the very long opinion) the Court ruled that Wong Kim Ark is a US citizen because at the time of his birth, his parents were legally domiciled and working in the USA on a permanent basis. They were basically permanent resident aliens - what today would be green card holders. The Supreme Court has never ruled on a case of a baby born here to illegals or to parents holding temporary visas (student. work or tourist).

From ratification of the 14th until around the late 1950's, the 14th was used the way Trump is saying it is supposed to be used. With his executive order, he did not "change" the 14th or ignore it or over rule it. He issued instructions for it to be applied correctly once again.

Fake news. He is not ending or challenging birthright citizenship. He is stating that there is a more narrow interpretation of the wording.

The child when born becomes a citizens of his parents' country.

All these countries have an embassy in the USA and will issue passports for the children.

As soon as parents become American citizens the childrens status changes.

They can have dual citizenship. Apply for American passport.

In the uk if the child stays for 10yrs continuous in the country, he or she can apply for citizenship.

Some parents on work visa's becomes citizens in 5yrs and their children automatically become British citizens.

I think all countries do this except the US.

Goodluck to everyone ❤

I guess Trumpers are overjoyed for his sweet sentiment for his votes. He's a waste of everything. It's been a few days, but I am sick of him already. I didn't vote for him. I guess his so-called wife is out too, right?

What about a big fine for those overstayed visa and 60 % of illegals will be solved?

If US has no jurisdiction on parents of child born in the US because they were illegal, then the US has no jurisdiction to deport parents that are illegal. Can't have it both ways. The definition of jurisdiction is one where the government has authority over. If the child was born in the US which the US has authority over then it is under jurisdiction and the child is a citizen. I voted Trump twice and I love the guy but even I know this is overreach and unconstitutional.

Well people come here and hurry up and have a baby or 2 so they can stay in the USA based on the baby’s legal status and it’s gotten out of hand. This right is not the case in other countries.

last year, i watched my cousin go from feeling completely stuck in life to absolutely thriving. they’d been talking about a book called Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane and how it wasn’t about “just think happy thoughts, ” but more about getting real with yourself and your goals. at first, i didn’t pay much attention, but then they started landing dream opportunities, meeting new people, and just carrying themselves differently. it’s not some miracle story—they worked for it—but they said the book helped them focus in a way that made everything feel possible.
