The central bank has unveiled fresh incentives, set to take effect on June 1, 2023, aimed at motivating banks and authorized exchange firms to attract more remittances from overseas Pakistanis. These measures are anticipated to enhance stability and provide a renewed impetus to remittance inflows.

We sought insights from economist Ali Khizar to elucidate whether Pakistan can unlock its remittance potential through effective measures against illegal trades and whether the introduced financial incentives by the SBP will suffice to elevate remittances in the country.
