Julian Castro 2020: Hard to Assess, Hard to Elect

Yesterday, Julian Castro ended his bid for the Democratic nomination. Today, we take a look at his career and campaign. I argue that Castro's impact on this race his been overestimated by the media and that regardless of the ordering of the early primary states, Castro would not emerge victorious. His ceiling, due to his lackluster charisma, is probably as Governor or Senator.

You should have probably have called out the political opportunism when he went from mayor to hud to vp to president. I think it is important because I bet that most politicians are somewhat like this and so know an opportunist when they see one

Castro seems to have potential as a figure if he could nail down his stances and advocate for progressive economic policies. I love his focus on education -- our key failing in the US. Anyway, thanks for another good overview. I hope he comes home and runs for governor (saving me from questionable at best Texan policies)
