Mckinney Falls State Park lies within Austin’s city limits and just 13 miles from the state capital. Come join us and see what Mckinney Falls State Park is all about.

💥Things to Do
Think of the park as Austin’s backyard; we’re just 13 miles from the state capitol. Here you can camp, hike, mountain or road bike, geocache, go bouldering, and picnic. You can also fish and swim in Onion Creek.

💥Stay overnight
Stay at one of 81 campsites (all with water and electric hookups). Or rent one of six newly remodeled cabins. Mckinney Falls State Park also has a primitive youth camping area, for use by nonprofit sponsored youth groups.

💥Hiking and biking
Hike or bike nearly nine miles of trails. The 2.8-mile Onion Creek Hike and Bike Trail has a hard surface, good for strollers and road bikes. Take the Rock Shelter Trail (only for hikers) to see where early visitors camped.

Very nice park, if I did not live so far away I would like to visit that park and go wading in the water. Thanks for the video.

I remember visiting this park several years ago. It was in the winter-time so no swimming, but all the trails were well maintained and a peaceful hike. Also, my son in law proposed to my daughter at this park during a hike.

A lot of cool features we didn't check out because it was too hot on the day we were there. I love the water flowing through the rocks in the 2 falls.

Great job on the informative video and the good camera views. We're moving back to Central Texas and this is definitely a place I'm excited to visit again.

Getting ready to head up there next month. Just doing a little research. I'm in Victoria so probably a 2.5 hr drive.
Thanks ✌

Been going to this park since 1995. Love this park. Great video, best one on this park I’ve seen. Also to answer the question the upper falls is 100 percent the better swim spot. But I love the entire park. I can walk it blind folded

I am learning that Texas State Parks considers any camera more powerful than a cell phone a professional camara, and that photography with such cameras on their property constitutes a "media production". This means that any serious hobbiest, birder watcher, or what have you will need to get written permission from the Texas State Parks to take pictures/video 90-days in advance. I am curious if anyone else has run across this before and what happened.

Just found your channel and subbed. Do you guys camp? Tent? RV? Could this park be seen in a day? Or do you recommend camping? 👍
