It really is astounding what Luffy and crew accomplished. Defeated 3 warlords, befriended a fourth, assisted by a fifth, Luffy seduced a sixth, and Zoro was trained by the seventh.

Mihawk set a really high standard really early in the series, one of my favorite parts of the series....gave us a good idea of how strong Luffy would need to be.

It's hard to picture Moria as a rival to Kaido. Especially considering Buggy out ranks him now.

When they were first introduced, the Warlords were rather terrifying. Our first encounter is with Mihawk who is arguably one of the strongest, if not THE strongest, Warlord. How easily he defeated Zoro and effortlessly dodged Luffy was one of those moments that sends a chill down your spine. I wish that the replacement Warlords would have been people we only knew by name (or never heard of) in order to keep us guessing if they will be a real threat.

I wish Oda had shown how Doflamingo reacted to Law becoming a supernova and a warlord. Maybe he even voted for him to become a warlord

How each Warlord got removed and their replacements

Dracule Mihawk - X
Bartholomew Kuma - *?*

Dracule Mihawk / Bartholomew Kuma / Boa Hancock were never removed before the abolishment. Donquixote Doflamingo was removed due to his actions in Dressrosa and after being defeated by Luffy which now there's an empty spot of Warlord. Gecko moria had been defeated by luffy and considered weak during the Paramount war so Donquixote Doflamingo took care of him and he was removed from warlord, since gecko moria was the third warlord to be removed during the war, Edward Weevil was given the title of Warlord since he was the third selected after the war. Jinbe resigned from the warlords and since he was the first warlord to be replaced during the war, Buggy was chosen to be Warlord since he was the first Warlord to be chosen after the War. Crocodile was removed due to his actions in Alabasta and after being defeated by Luffy, Blackbeard was his replacement so he became a Warlord but was removed second during the war due to his betrayel to the Navy, Trafalgar Law was the replacement for Blackbeard since he was the second to be added a Warlord after the war but was later removed due to his alliance with Luffy which now there's an empty spot for Warlord. There was now 5 Warlords at the moment. Bartholomew Kuma’s modifications as a Pacifista have been completed, making him lose his free will forever; he is now a total slave for the World Government and isn’t really a true Warlord anymore but still part of it. Finally in the Levely, the World Government decided to abolish the Warlord System once and for all due to the tragedy caused by previous Warlords on Government-allied-Kingdoms. So with no Warlords in place, the Marines were ordered to capture the current 4 Now-Former-Warlords.
