One of the most innovative features of the Pietro Flat Burr Grinder is the retractable lever, which provides enhanced user comfort and allows the grinder to remain compact. With the lever positioned on the side, users can take advantage of gravity to keep the grinder stable while resting their other hand on top of it.

This ergonomic design also makes it easy to clean, as the burrs detach and attach with ease. The grinder comes with multipurpose burrs but can be swapped out for filter burrs if you're exclusively grinding pour-overs.

The airtight hopper lid keeps your beans fresh up to the last moment, and the anti-slip base prevents the grinder from moving away when in use. If you're looking for a high-quality manual coffee grinder that combines comfort, efficiency, and durability, the Fiorenzato Pietro Flat Burr Hand Grinder is definitely worth considering.

*ADDED NOTE:* I counted ~170 revolutions to grind 18g of espresso beans... It is comfortable grinding at a speed of 120rpms. ... any slower than that - it'll take quite a while.

And here we see the beginning of the manual flat burr hand grinder craze.

This is not a B-modal burr. This is actually an M-modal burr. As you can see, there are only 4 major big cuts on the burr, 4 --> M modal, 8 --> B modal. And such a nice video to explain a burr designed for filter coffee is really good for espresso 🙃

I have a Pietro manual flat burr grinder and I really love it. I live out in the country and we sometimes have power outages so I was looking for a good hand grinder. It was expensive but the shipping and import fees were included in the price, so it is sort of comparable to more high end hand grinders. I have the multipurpose burrs but mine is coated so it is black, the burrs are great and it does do surprising cups. I would highly recommend it if your situation allows.

Hey someone who actually shows how it is and sounds to grind the beans. Very informative. Usually youtubers cut that out

Great vid ! Very informative. I got the Pietro, and understand the critique about grind setting limitations, however I found on the opposite that it was very quick and easy to dial in. Sure not suitable for someone needing micro adjustment to the second, but much easier to dial (and go back and forth) than my 1Zpresso (which will cover ´y need if ever it’s a question of 8 microns) and Comandante. It is to be noted that this was purchased for my manual lever setup where I have more control. My take may be different if it was for my machine.
Like you I found the cup profile to be delightful, not lacking in body compared to conicals, and with great clear flavors. And that is what matters the most.
Grinding is easy, although long - longer than Comandante - and sometimes challenging to avoid the base from wobbling. These are the two biggest improvement areas I would like to see addressed.
Cleaning / disassembling is a breathe and pleasure. And being told pro brew burrs would be available separately at some point. Build quality is on par with price. All in all, I am thrilled with this purchase.

Thanks for reviewing it, I’ll have it on my to get list for some time but waiting for the base to be available in june/july as they verified it should be available at.

The burrs are interchangeable they offered a special offer at the last coffee festival in Holland if you bought it at their boot you get both burrs with your grinder.

Burrs will also be available for purchase later this year.

While I probably won’t bother grinding espresso by hand, the results looked promising. Hopefully you also review the brew burr later on.

I liked this review. Somehow I can feel related to the workflow and tasting. Like you're not in a rush to read from a prepared sheet or to throw as many words and visuals at the viewer. Balanced information in a not distracting and relaxed flow. Appreciate it.

I would like to know, what were the other two shots, because if you found out which one is the shot of the review, you ignore the benchmarks that you've used to set the comparison.

Also, I would appreciate maybe a once-a-week or once-a-month video with blind comparisons of similar categories of grinders. Whenever a new and promising grinder comes out - make a comparison. This way with every next comparison you'll verify your previous picks and conclusions and will provide a more complex benchmark for the newcomer grinders.

Thank you, and "Hello" from Ukraine!

A review ive been looking forward to! I want fiorenzato to include a bench clamp for this thing so that it takes some of the work out of it. Otherwise looks impressive!

I am learning how to tweak the Pietro Grinder, but it seems to be great.

What initially interested me in this unit, was that it was a clear step away from a "travel" grinder to a home grinder.

This review really had me finally subscribe. I try not to subscribe to too many. Loved your honesty and reactions. Amazing! I'd love to get this but I don't need a new grinder yet :(. When my Baratza Settle goes, I'll likely repair it. But now I have a reason to sell it and then go for this beautiful flat burr hand grinder :)!

thank you for the most interesting presentation of the Pietro, particularly the aspect of "rpm" and resulting "powder" quality... but you didn't tell us about the other cups, I would have been interested participating in the Kinu M47 classic taste...

Was this a cup with a Kinu m47 grind? In the center? Or on the left?

Thanks for the video - and seriously considering this one. Would have loved to see a Pour Over demo as well. But it sounds as if it will do the job

Great review, I know what you mean when you say the hand holding the grinder down gets tired, the HG-1 is the same way.

Excuse me? It's around the same price as simplicity? That's kind awesome for a flat burr manual grinder.

It reminds me of my childhood days pencil sharpener 😅
