I drive an MG4, best car I’ve driven in 60+ years of driving, but I believe a car is and A to B device and if it handles well and has a bit of power to spare. I’m sure that people want more bells and whistles but for me, MG has nailed it. The price cut must certainly have helped but most mg4 drivers I know have a smug look about them.

Xpeng will be in the top 10 best selling car in 2025. I guess.
I tried to score each aspect for more than 10 top EV brands in Australia like:
1. Design efficiency like battery range ratio, car weight range ratio.
2. Size space comparison
3. Speed 0-100 kmh second
4. Charging speed
5. Driveway price
6. Compare short/long range
Exclude AWD.

The result shows that Xpeng G6 is ranked number 1 for both ahort and long range

You're using figures from the Driven, which notably have failed to include the sales of the BMW iX1. This car placed 6th for the year and is undoubtedly in the top 10 for December.

My mate has a Polestar 2 and I have a BMW i4 and he says he prefers my i4. Build quality and suspension much better.

So my parents have an BMW i4, its actually very efficient they aren't that far behind Tesla. While my MG4 drops range as soon as you are on the hwy the i4 seems to gain range when cruising this just makes it well suited for Australia. The Polestar 2, a major rival, isn't very efficient for long distant travelling.

One of my mums friends husband bought a Buzzforks despite being told it wasn't good and well, firstly he got a good lease discount, secondly he has charging at work as well as home. So its slow charging basically doesn't matter. And the big thing, thats frustrating people are very attached to Toyota.

and 7000 in first week of 2025 in China to be best seller over there
Astonishing as it’s a tiny brand compared to BYD and Geely

The Dolphin is tiny so no good for me as I’m big yes didn’t like the Volvo eV30 either. Very small and it’s $70000 for the long range so not competitive here
XPeng G6 was roomier and has very nice soft seats

They may have sold out but the shipment was probably minuscule like 100 cars like a boutique brand

Friend bought a mustang Mach E and had an accident and tore up a guard. He booked it in 3 weeks wait and 6 weeks to repair what is basically one panel so parts prob not available
Anyway he’s off the road for 9 weeks with damage that can be fixed with a normal car in a couple days

Disappointing Atto3/Seal numbers for BYD, which makes Sealion/Shark very critical for them, considering their volume target here in AUS. Given great pricing and choice now plus incoming, If BEV growth doesn't come out of it's slumber here this year, it might never.

You can bet that the only BZ4X buyers are die-hard Toyota fans who would always buy a Toyota or Lexus. Toyota is Osbourning itself with the BZ4X. Toyota has earned this terrible market treatment with a long series of stupid decisions.

Well ev sales in Australia fell last year while total car sales for were up. So Toyota is correct, the ev brands cannibalised each other in a falling ev market while the total car market grew

EV's nowhere to be seen.
