A Glaswegian-Bangladeshi chef credited with inventing the chicken tikka masala has died. He tweaked the Indian dish chicken tikka masala to suit the taste of Britons. Does simply adding a few more ingredients to a dish make you entitled to its origin? Priyanka Sharma tells you more.

Just like Indians claiming Rishi Sunak, The Scots and Brits want to claim Chicken Tikka Masala.according to copyright law. It would at best be considered worthy of derivative copyright which acknowledges the addition of the sauce to be an addition on a prior invention . Instead of trying to appropriate the dish the scots ought to call it an Indo Scottish dish. Indo ought to be first because the Indian invention is the primary invention and the addition is a derivation
