Making Plaster Paw Prints

It's Arts & Crafts Day with Seven! I decided I'd like a physical keepsake of Seven so we tried our hand (and paw) at making a Plaster of Paris paw print. I've never used Plaster of Paris, but there's a first time for everything! Not sure if I can convince Seven to do it again, but maybe a little bacon bribery will help.

Hi! I’m Jen and the little furry guy with me is my best friend, Seven. We’ve been traveling and having adventures together since 2008. He’s nearing the twilight of his life, so I’m on a mission to make as many memories as possible with him. Come along on our journey with us! Let’s make each day count.

I've made paw prints for tree ornaments years ago. You need to make a negative mold, first! (toe bean details); using either a plastic polymer or the alginate molding (flexible rubbery, creating a indented template); allow rubbery mold to "harden" ;which will hold all the detail of the lil toe beans 💡THEN you mix/pour the plaster of paris into the flexible mold #1. Allow the plaster to set in the rubber molds (or play-doh/clay) It makes a super cute 3D paw that pops out towards you in the end❤️

I hope he allows you to make a 2nd attempt!! ☺️❤️ so cute!
