I'm just gonna say this. This is my favorite take on Pyro's origins.
It's shocking, mysterious, and adds and keeps true to his character while still keeping it extremely vague to keep the whole mystery of the character. I've always enjoyed the idea that the Pyro is actually really messed up in the head, with or without Pyrovision. It becomes easier to take him seriously while still keeping him a goofy and adorable killing machine.
